It comes as no surprised that the highest paid role identified in the article is the tech role of database administration, capping the list off at an average of $98,610. Nearly double the average local worker’s salary of $51,000 according to the article. This role was also identified as the highest salary maker in the overall state level, totaling $97,320 in Raleigh, $93,700 in Durham, and $74,140 in Greensboro. The technology field continues to evolve in the Charlotte area, generating more employment opportunities within an excellent salary range.
Data was received from the Occupational Employment Statistics program and is based on May 2018 figures. The program provides employment and wage estimates annually by nationwide level and individual state and metro areas for over 800 occupations.
CBJ omitted employers with less than 100 employees which removed many health diagnosis and treating practitioners, post-secondary physics teachers and transportation inspectors due to the small size of these sectors. The average employee income in these smaller sectors totaled $92,180, $94,310, and $94,790 respectively.
