Kids of all ages are getting their costumes ready for the big candy grab and there’s fun for all ages all around Charlotte. Here are some of the highlights that you don’t want to miss.
Scar-O-Winds
All of the rides are still the same at one of the largest amusement parks in the south, but there is one difference during the Halloween season. You might end up sitting next to a demented clown or a zombie. Carowinds transforms into Scar-O-Winds for the end of the season. There are plenty of tricks and treats for the kids during the day, but the real fun starts at night as each section of the park has people dressed up in scary costumes. You never know what surprises await you around every corner.
The Haunted Mill
This is another location you can try if you truly like to be scared. It is one of the locations where you will see ghostly activity that has been documented. You are in the middle of all of the action while you are at The Haunted Mill. From mazes that you think you can’t escape from to chainsaws that come out of no where, this is something that is not for the faint of heart. It has been voted as one of the top Halloween haunts in North Carolina.
Discovery Place
If you enjoy science, then you will like going to visit the Rocks Fright at Discovery Place. This is something for those who like Halloween but want something a little tamer than the haunted houses. There is also an event where you can make bat boxes. It is something fun for children to do during the Halloween season.
Boogerwoods
When you enter the woods, you never know what you will find or who you will see. This Halloween event is known for causing some terrifying screams from all who wish to explore. There are four new scenes this year.. Many of them are updated, reflecting the technical aspect of horror while still keeping the serial killer adventure.
The Campground Massacre
After you go to this campground, you might never want to go camping again. There are three acres that are transformed into one of the largest haunted places in the Charlotte area. No tour guides are available, so you are left to see all of the monsters and malicious sightings on your own. This is what makes the event fun because you can go through the trails on your own time, but beware, because some of the creatures might try to follow you around.
