With over 30 theaters and museums in the Charlotte city limits, it’s safe to say that the Queen City is a city of culture. Arts festivals are among Charlotte’s most popular events. Festival in the Park, an arts and crafts festival around Freedom Park’s lake, appears every September.

Golf
North Carolina golf courses come close to being national treasures and the Queen City in particular loves her links. The incredible demand for golf across the country is reflected in Charlotte, where a number of new public courses have been built in recent years. If watching professionals do the golfing is more of your forte, Charlotte has you covered there as well – with Quail Hollow Country Club hosting the Wells Fargo Championship PGA tournament every year.

Sports
Sporting events always draw big crowds in and around Charlotte. From NFL football to NASCAR, Charlotte has it all. Charlotte is home to two major professional sports teams: the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League and the newly-returned Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association. The Charlotte Knights, the Triple A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, also unveiled their new stadium in 2014, right in the heart of Uptown.
For those that just wanna go fast, NASCAR races roar multiple times a year at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, with the Sprint Showdown, the Nextel All-Star Challenge, the Coca-Cola 600 and the Bank of America 500 all taking place in the Queen City.
