If you are an avid golfer, a new social club just for golfers is opening at Apex in SouthPark next year and that is reason to be excited. The club will be unlike any of the other golf facilities in town, but will help to cement Charlotte as “golf country”. The club will offer a “convenient and weather-proof setting where you can play 18 holes (of golf) in 45 minutes, day or night, rain or shine.”
A flagship location of Intown Golf Club exists in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. This location has been such a hit with golfers that five more locations are in the works. The new locations are in Nashville, TN, Austin, TX, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, PA. The Charlotte location rounds out the five.
This social golf club won’t be like any other golf club in town. Intown Golf Club will provide a luxury golfing experience. The club will feature TrackMan golf simulators so you can virtually play one of 170+ courses from around the world. Pros on staff will be available to provide lessons to improve your game, lower your handicap, or just refine your stroke. You can even rent equipment so you don’t have to bring your own. There will also be opportunities to join leagues and participate in tournaments.
To complement the golfing, Intown will feature a restaurant and bar managed by Castellucci Hospitality Group. Castellucci Hospitality Group is based out of Atlanta and currently are responsible for 6 restaurants including The Iberian Pig, Double Zero, and Bar Mercado. This new restaurant and bar will be launched by Federico Castellucci III, the president and CEO. He has won many accolades in his field and will bring the same attention to detail to this new venture.
The Intown Golf Club will comprise 13,000 square feet with a large covered patio and an outdoor putting green. The plan is for the club to be open Monday through Friday from 7am to 10pm. Saturday hours will be 8am to 10 pm, and Sunday hours will be 8am to 5pm.
Apex SouthPark is located just across from SouthPark Mall. This mixed-use development contains 345 luxury apartments, a 175-room hotel with rooftop bar and restaurant. In addition there is a worship center for SouthPark Church. Steak 48 restaurant is a feature of Apex SouthPark. A four level parking garage serves residents and patrons of the ground-floor retail and entertainment spaces.
Intown Golf Club will be open to members and their guests with different tiers of membership. They include social, individual, individual-plus, and family. There will be initiation fees in addition to monthly dues. There is currently a wait list for membership, but a few memberships should become available each month. This club seems like it will be the perfect place to squeeze in a round of golf even if the weather would have chased you off the outdoor courses. Now avid golfers won’t need to leave town during the winter to get in a good game.
