From cheap mulch to munchies. We've compiled a list of ways to save money in Charlotte.

Cheap Mulch and Soil from Charlotte Mecklenburg Yard Waste

Mulching your plants and beds is one of the most beneficial things you can do to preserve your yard’s outdoor appearance and your yard can account for up to 15% of your homes value. Save hundreds of dollars a year by purchasing Charlotte Mecklenburg’s mulch and compost. Many landscapers will say it is an inferior mix but the truth is: they buy it from here too!

Angel Food Ministries

This is an amazing, non-profit organization dedicated to providing food relief and financial support to communities across the US. Each month they sell a medium-sized box of fresh and frozen food for $30/month. The food would typically cost $60 at the grocery store. This is a great way to reduce food costs and not lose any quality or nutrition.

A rare Sunday night game brings the purple monsters from Minnesota into town. Watch our DeAngelo Williams duel the NFL's other top running back.

Carolina Panthers vs. Minnesota Vikings
December 20 @ 8:20PM, Bank of American Stadium.

Its a rare Sunday night as the Panthers try to salvage their season against the NFC North division leading Minnesota Vikings come into town. This game will feature two of the NFL’s premier running backs in our DeAngelo Williams and the Viking’s Adrian Peterson.

Charlotte Bobcats
4 remaining home games this month

If the season were to end today, our home town startups would be in the playoffs. After a wobbly start, the Bobcats seem to be hitting their stride. The Detroit game (12/22) and the Milwaukee game (12/28) should be well contested games as all three teams are surging.

Charlotte Checkers vs. South Carolina Stingrays
December 20 @ 2pm, Time Warner Cable Arena

The 2nd place Checkers play host to their division-leading rivals at Time Warner Arena

Jean-Piere Bonnefoux’s Nutcracker
December 11-13 & 18, Belk Theater

Meet young Clara and her extraordinary Nutcracker doll. This holiday classic is a full-blown with over 70 performers from the NC Dance Theatre.

The Singing Christmas Tree
December 12 & 13, Ovens Auditorium

What better way to celebrate the season with a 9 level high human singing Christmas tree? In its 55th year, it is safe to say that this is a rooted Charlotte tradition. They also have a show for kids.
