Charlotte Restaurant Week is here! The title sells it a little short since it’s actually 10 days long, but Restaurant Week and a Half doesn’t sound quite as catchy. From Friday, July 16, through Sunday, July 25, each participating upscale restaurant will offer a spectacular 3-course, prix fixe dinner menu for only $30 per person (not including tax and gratuity).

It’s a great opportunity to experience Charlotte’s wonderful variety of upscale restaurants without having to pay the premium price.

Discovery Place to Host Public Free Day

To celebrate the conclusion of $31.6 million worth of renovations over the past eighteen months, Discovery Place will host a Public Free Day concurrently with the opening of World Alive and Fantastic Frogs on Sunday, June 27 from noon – 5:00 p.m.

Museum admission will be free to all guests.

The Charlotte Habitat for Humanity Restore on Wendover Road has received a truckload of high-end moulding and trim-mahogany, walnut, oak, poplar, chestnut, cherry etc. All types-crown, base, shoe, cove, hand rail (walnut and mahogany and oak handrail), chair rail, etc. Prices are about 15 percent of retail this time.

Charlotte’s ReStore is a store that accepts donations of new and gently used items from individuals and businesses in the community, and sells those items to the public at a reduced cost, usually 50-70 percent of the original retail value. All proceeds go toward building Habitat homes with the local Habitat affiliate.
