MSNBC is reporting the Queen City is the frontrunner to host the Democratic National Convention in 2012. And there’s a meeting today with a lot at stake.
Charlotte City Council has added a briefing today at 2 p.m. to discuss the latest on the DNC.
According to MSNBC, Charlotte is the favorite over St. Louis, Minneapolis and Cleveland with reports one potential city might have to drop out if they can’t come up with the money to host.
The convention would be expected to bring between $150-$200 million to the city.
Mayor Anthony Foxx and other city leaders have already traveled to Boston, the site of the 2004 DNC to see what they did.
