CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Krispy Kreme has announced that it is going to open a store in Charlotte for the first time in years.
The company is hoping to open a location in the former Wendy’s restaurant at 119 North Sharon Amity Road by the end of September.
The doughnut maker is planning to hire about 40 employees for the new store.
According to Krispy Kreme’s website, the company has five other stores in the Charlotte-area, including an Indian Land location that opened this past year.
The company also plans to open a store in Rock Hill, South Carolina in the near future, according to a company spokesperson.
Krispy Kreme operates 694 locations in 21 countries, according to its website.
